William "Randy" Randolph Payne

William Randolph (Randy) Payne passed away April 4, 2025 at home on Grave Lake surrounded by family. Randy was born in Baldwin, WI on June 7, 1951.

Randy graduated from high school in Winthrop, MN in 1969. He attended Gustavus Adolphus for two years. He moved to the family farm in Deer River in 1974 to care for his aging grandparents. He married Jill Snow in 1984 and their son, Christopher, was born in 1986.

Randy started logging, building cabins and houses and eventually worked at Blandin Paper Company. He was a kind and gentle husband, father, and friend. He was also an excellent angler, hunter, golfer and a fabulous wood worker.

Randy is preceded in death by his parents, John and Miriam Payne, and sister Patty.

Randy is survived by his wife Jill, son Christopher (Kelly), granddaughters Murphy and Rooney, and brother Dave (Nancy).

The family would like to thank all of his nurses and caregivers at Grand Itasca Infusion Center and St. Croix Hospice.

Arrangements are with Carroll Funeral Home, Deer River, MN.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025 from 5pm-7pm. at Carroll Funeral Home Deer River, MN.
