Survived by: Wife Marlene of 71 years, 3 children Lorrie (Randy Jackson) Stangland, Kenneth Steffen, Janice (Don) Dewey and 2 foster children Jack Starken and Wendy Schultz, 6 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild.

Preceded By: Parents Fred and Clara Steffen, sisters Margaret (Don) Thielgas, Mary (Dick) Branch, brother -Larry (Donna) Steffen, son Michael Steffen.

 Bill was born in Deer River, Minnesota where he remained his whole life with the exception of his military service. He was employed by the Deer River School District as custodian 30 years and was able to be retired for 30 years as well. He enjoyed many hobbies, gardening, hunting, logging, trapping, making maple syrup. He also enjoyed going to auction sales, storytelling, and his many four-legged friends. He loved getting together with family and friends.
