Vicki Bibeau Obituary

Vicki Lynne (Scardina) Bibeau, of Deer River, Minnesota, passed peacefully on November 7, 2019, following a day of many visits with friends and family, in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.  Vicki was born 63 years ago in Baltimore, Maryland.

Vicki is survived by her forever husband Frank, her father Tony Scardina, Sr., two brothers Michael and Tony Jr. Scardina, nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles and aunts, and a lot of good friends who loved her.

Vicki was preceded by her Mother (Kay) Katherine (Antal) Scardina, Grandmother Virginia (Nanny) Antal and Aunt Linda (Antal) Hedges, the 3 most important and formative women in her life. They are all together again.

This summer we were able to enjoy several pontoon rides on Cass Lake, Winnibigoshish and Balsam Lakes.

Vicki will be cremated without visitation, service or burial.  A celebration of Vicki’s life is being planned for next spring with the American Legion Auxiliary, Walker Post.  Helping and serving Veterans was a favorite way for Vicki to spend her time.  Vicki didn’t just volunteer, she was an active member of the Legion Family.  She knew everyone and everyone knows her.

Vicki was also a Water Protector with her husband Frank.  Together they harvested wild rice and more recently inherited a wild rice processing and smoked whitefish operation in Ball Club.  Vicki loved to travel and in March visited her 50th state Oregon, waking up on her birthday with the Pacific Ocean view out her hotel room window.

By all accounts Vicki was a woman’s woman, with a great heart and willingness to try and succeed. When we were young we hitch-hiked to many states and in 1982 we were married and made our permanent home in Ball Club.  Vicki was a college student, homemaker, business owner, Veterans’ support organizer, community activist, secretly smart, the best cook in the whole world and loved and supported her husband Frank for 38 wonderful years.  Frank was very fortunate to spend so much life together with Vicki in the center of the universe.
