Thomas "Mack" Williams

Mack Williams, age 81, passed away at home in Deer River from interstitial lung disease on May 30, 2022, with Mary by his side. 

Mack was born on February 26, 1941 to Tom and Violet (Terho) Williams. He attended grade school in Squaw Lake, MN and high school in Deer River, MN graduating in 1959. Following high school he attended Itasca Junior College in Grand Rapids, MN. He was in the MN National Guards. He worked in Alaska, at Gibbs Wild Rice, MN Power, Hope House of Itasca County and at the Carroll Funeral Home. He married Mary Riedl in 1995.

Mack enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards, fishing, grouse hunting and especially deer hunting with the Grossell / Williams clan. He was also an avid Deer River Warriors fan.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; sister, Sharon Cartwright; sisters-in law, Cheryl Williams and Elaine Williams; nephews, Vic and Carl Williams, Gary and Dale Cartwright; nieces, Sarah Bellefy and Lisa Stangler as well as many great nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents ; brothers, Jim and Vic Sr.; brother-in law, Rollie Cartwright.
