Taylor Dale Serfling (30) unexpectedly passed away at home on June 13th. He was born November 11, 1992 in Grand Rapids, MN to Trish and Doolie Serfling.
Taylor graduated from Deer River High School in 2012. While we all know Taylor was the smartest of his siblings, school was mostly a social event in his world.
Taylor grew up on the south side of Deer River, where he spent most days causing mayhem with his friends and siblings. As a kid, Taylor was always at the center of the south side kids’ shenanigans. You knew where he was by the sound of his laugh, which was something he did more often than not, especially when him and the boys were together.
Everyone who knew Taylor knew he loved to hunt and fish. You were most likely find him outside doing one or the other. His favorite fishing partner was his brother and best friend Zach. There could be a book written called ‘The Adventure of Taylor and Zach’ about all the things those two got into.
Taylor met the love of his life, Brittanie Topper, in the summer of 2015 and were officially dating by fall. She was his everything and he loved her more than the air he breathed. Some of Taylor and Brittanie’s favorite things to do included fishing, hunting, and anything outdoors. Cuddling on the couch and watching movies with their beloved fur babies Fiona, Duchess, and Zeppelin were part of their everyday routine.
Taylor was a dedicated fiancé, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Family was his rock and his entire purpose for living. Spending quality time together with his family and those he loved was extremely important to Taylor. He was known as a family man and loved deeply. Taylor was his family’s special prince.
Taylor worked hard and would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need. Taylor’s smile and laugh was infectious and lit up every room he was in.
Taylor was preceded in death by his grandfather Lawrence Serfling; grandfather Charles Holter; and great-grandmother Margie Holter.
Taylor is survived by the love of his life, fiancé Brittanie Topper; parents Doolie Serfling and Trish (Jeff) Serfling, siblings Amber (Jason) Haskell, Zach Serfling, and Chloe Serfling, niece Zoe and nephew Tyrell; grandparents Kay and Dick Peck and Pat Serfling; world’s best auntie Sue Waite; and his south side buddies.
His Celebration of life will be held at Deer Lake town hall Sunday June 18th from 1-4, the Serfling family would also like to express their sincerest thanks to those who have reached out with their sympathies and aid in Taylor’s absence.
