Stanley Leroy Dahlgren, a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather, passed away on August 27, 2024, at the age of 79, in Marcell, Minnesota.
Born on July 22, 1945, Stan grew up in Rockford, Illinois, and graduated from Auburn High School. He went on to become a skilled carpenter, a trade that allowed him to express his creativity and attention to detail.
Stan is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Dahlgren; daughter, Kathy Thompson; granddaughter, Holly Thompson; grandson, Matthew Thompson; and brother, Kenneth(Beverly) Dahlgren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Gladys Dahlgren; brother, Wallace Dahlgren; and son, Russell Erik Dahlgren.
After retiring in 1993, Stan and Bonnie moved to Marcell, Minnesota, where they spent 30 years enjoying the beauty of northern Minnesota. Stan was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and bow hunting. He was also a self-taught craftsman who created beautiful projects and remodeled cabins on Big Island Lake, including a stunning addition to their home in Marcell.
Stan's legacy will live on through his family, his craftsmanship, and the countless memories he made with those who loved him.
The family wants to express a heartfelt thank you to the nursing staff at Rainy Lake Medical Hospital in International Falls for their compassionate care and support during Stan's final days.
