Shirley Ann (Forsberg) Shea

Shirley A Shea, 99 of Bigfork, MN died peacefully in the early morning hours of May 23, 2024 at Bigfork Valley LTC in Bigfork, MN.

Shirley was born on May 15, 1925, the daughter of Walter and Emelia (Lofgren) Forsberg of Nashwauk, MN. She graduated from Nashwauk High School in 1943, attended Hamline University graduating with a nursing degree, then joined the Navy to proudly serve as a Pharmacists Mate at the US Naval Hospital, Long Beach, CA. After her time in the US Navy she attended Hickox Secretarial School in Boston, MA, graduating in 1947 and so beginning her lifelong career as a medical and business secretary.

Shirley achieved much in her long life. She was the essence of a lifelong learner, curious about all matters in life. Loving her family greatly and greeting each day with a positive attitude and a big smile. She is deeply missed. 

Shirley is survived by her son, Chris (Deanna) Koebnick, her daughter, Kay Krueger, five grandchildren, Daniel Koebnick, Kathleen “Kadie”(Ryan) Moore, Samuel (Ashley) Krueger, Emelia Krueger, Sarah (Gilbert) Trevino and four great grandchildren, Brexton, Giana, Araceli and baby Trevino on the way. Her brother W. Duane Forsberg, nephews Jeff Forsberg & Eric Forsberg.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Emelia, husbands Daniel Koebnick, Thomas Shea and long time friend Jack Reilly.

In Shirley’s memory please join us in her Celebration of Life to be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday July 16, 2024, at Bigfork Presbyterian Church with Pastor Ray Cole officiating. Visitation will begin at the church one hour prior, with a refreshments to follow. Rest in peace Mom.. We love you so.
