Shirley Mae (Bahls) Howard, 84 years of age, resident of Oak Hills Assisted Living, formerly from Squaw Lake Minnesota and Granada Minnesota, passed on to meet her Savior in Heaven on Friday, January 10, 2020 at Grand Itasca Hospital in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
Shirley was born in Fairmont Minnesota on December 6, 1935 to Walter and Martha Bahls of Huntley, Minnesota. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Richard Lee Howard; Sons Dean (Wendy) Howard and Dennis (Jackie) Howard; Daughters Deborah Osborn, Darla (Lee) Stevermer, Doris (John ) Moore, Diane (Dale Cline) Howard and Darcie Howard along with 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildred and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by parents Walter and Martha (Shopke) Bahls , Sister and brother-in-law Donnabelle and Duane Lane, Brother and sister-in-law Alan and Elenanor Bahls, Sister-in-law and brother-in law Phyllis(Howard) and Alex Klocek and Son, Donald.
Shirley was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; church organist, Sunday school teacher, earned her BS in social work and was employed by Faribault County for 6 years. She and Richard retired to Northern Minnesota in 1995. Shirley suffered from Parkinsons for 20 years handling every day with acceptance and determination. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends, but knowing she is happy and pain free and reunited with her loved ones in Heaven, gives us all hope, strength and joy.
Internment will be at the Center Creek Township Cemetery on Saturday, September 5, 2020.
