Samual Duane Grossman Jr. passed away unexpectedly at home in Cohasset, Minnesota on January 30th, 2024 at the age of 43.

Sammy is survived by his son Maximus (Max) Grossman, his Mother Janet Grossman, siblings: Tessa Pfeifer-Grossman, Luke (Liz) Grossman, Anna (Robert “Bj”) Gotchie. Several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Frederick (Maxine) Grossman Sr., Harold (Hope) Thompson, dad Samual Grossman Sr., son Zeke Grossman, good friends Justin “Gump” Parks and Bob “Jet” Gotchie. Niece Niinimoshe Grossman-Rodriguez.

Sammy was born on June 25, 1980 in Deer River, Minnesota to Sam and Janet Grossman. He graduated from the Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig School. He worked for many years at Ray’s Sport and Marine in Grand Rapids, MN. His current employment was with TNT (Hammerlund) Construction and he was a member of the local Union 1097. He was a jack-of-all-trades and was willing to help anybody.

He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and trapper. He could always be found outdoors and next to a bonfire. He enjoyed many adventures and would go anywhere the wind blew. Within the last year he attended any event possible! Camping, rodeos, Moon Dance Jam, pow wows, Sugar Lake, tubing, Kilde Barn Fest, Benson’s Bog Days, and was part of the World’s Largest Wild Rice Festival Parade. He enjoyed watching every MN Wild game at home with his mom “Less go Wild!!!!” He was a newly proud member of Bush Wackers Snowmobile Club.

He will be remembered for his humor, friendship and tough love.

An overnight wake is scheduled for 4:00pm on Monday, February 5th until his funeral on Tuesday, February 6th at 11:00am in Ball Club, MN at the Lone Eagle Center. Sammy will be laid to rest in Wirt, MN at a later date.

Lance Edminster and Paul Haddix will be officiating the ceremony.
