Ruth Rosemary (Lindeborg) Howe

August 24, 1928 ~ May 25, 2020 (age 91)


Ruth Rosemary Howe, Deer River MN,

passed away after 92 wonderful years of Life on May 25th, 2020.

Ruth was born August 24th, 1928 in Ely, MN to Oscar & May Lindeborg. She lost her Father at the age of 4 years old, she’s always missed him dearly. She grew up in the Spring Lake area with her Mother and 3 sisters; Alice (Grand Rapids MN), Laura Mae (St. Paul MN) and Margaret (Superior WI). She went to school in Deer River, staying at the Girls Dormitory, and was a fierce 5’1” Warriors Girls Basketball player, graduating in 1946. She met the love of her life, Charles “Charlie” Howe while going to DRHS and they married July 3rd, 1954. They lived their entire life in Deer River while raising 2 beautiful daughters, Laura May & Arliss Lynn. Both girls loss their long hard battles with different but difficult diseases Cancer & Diabetes early in life, which was vary hard on both Ruth & Charlie. They helped raise Grand-Daughters Robbie Howe-Bebeau & Lynn Morales. She lived her life as a wonderful Homemaker, and Auxiliary Member volunteering her time to her church and community: her favorite was cooking and delivering food to the elderly. Ruth enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, ricing, cooking/baking, going for long rides, watching sports and spending time with her Grand Children, Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her Husband of 65 yrs. - Charlie Howe, Daughters; Laura May (Howe) Grauman and Arliss Dewey. Mother & Father - May & Oscar Lindeborg. Sisters; Alice (Jim) Feaster, Laura Lindeborg, Margaret McGinnis. Nephews: Randy & John Oaing, Johnathan Howe and Jeff Eckholm.

Ruth is survived by her Grandchildren: Robbie (Duane) Howe-Bebeau, Lynn (Jim) Morales, John (Toni) Dewey, Jeremy (Tracy) Dewey, Jennifer (Peter) Dewey, Paul Hagstrom, Jodee (Joe) Dewey. Great-Grandchildren: Jimmy (Andrea) O’Shea, Joshua (Tahnee) O’Shea, Nicole O’Shea, NaShel’ (Brendan) Bebeau, Natalie Bebeau, Charlie (Brittney) Howe, Antonio (Shaniya) Warner, Michael, Arlissa & Thomas Morales, Hayden, Johnny, Annabella, Jayda, & Jackson Hagstrom, Kaydia & Evan Dewey, Tucker & Tyke Dewey, and Jayce Dewey. Great-Great Grandchildren: Taylor, Izaiah, Quinton, Landon, Aubree, Kaysia, Bailey, Josh Jr., Kayzli, Joshua Jr., and Chance. Sister In-Laws: Caroline Meyer & Arline Howe. Many Nieces & Nephews.

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic safety precautions are being taken, a Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date with the family and friends of Ruth.
