Ronald Kevin Thiel

Ronald Kevin Thiel, loving husband, father and grandfather, age 69 of Bovey, MN, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 13th, 2025.

Born on June 7th, 1956, in Ely, MN, Ron was a man who showed his love through spending time with family and friends and being there through good and hard times.  He was always willing to listen to and support his family the best way he knew how.

Ron will be remembered for his love of the outdoors and all his hunting and fishing stories and laughs.  He taught his children how to love and value time with family, time in the outdoors, and the love of nature.  His legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren who continue to enjoy the outdoors and the love of the land.

Ron is survived by his wife Grace Carrie Thiel (Finken), children: son Joseph Thiel, son and daughter-in-law Adam and Jennifer Thiel, daughter and significant other Nadine Thiel and Trone Scott, and by his grandsons: Michael, Matthew, and Marcus Thiel.  He was preceded in death by his son Shawn Thiel.

No services will be held at this time.  Ron requested to have a celebration of life on his birthday, which will be on Sunday June 7th, 2026.  Location and specifics to be determined closer to that date.  Family and friends will be notified when arrangements have been made.
