Ronald Mayo Hjelden was born in Maddock, ND on November 27, 1939 and joined his soulmate in Heaven on July 4, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grand & great grandfather and an amazing friend. He married the love of his life June (Johnson) on February 24, 1961 and together they found a true friendship, raised a family and built a beautiful marriage of 63 amazing years.
He had a multitude of jobs in his lifetime and made many lasting friends while at work. Him and June enjoyed many activities while raising their children. bringing them camping, fishing, hunting, family trips and building their home in 1978. He loved hunting trips out to Wyoming and locally, along with fishing. He was a skilled carpenter inwhich he put to use building things for the family. He loved bowling and playing golf wherever he could play with family and friends. They spent their winters in Texas with many dear friends for years and sharing many memorable occasions. They had terrific adventures with their siblings, friends and 'the grands' over their lifetime together.
Ron was a people person, he could strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere about anything to talk about. His ablity to remember everything and recall in conversations to others, was impeccable. His knowledge and they way he told stories were fascinating! He deeply loved his family, and loved listening to their laughter and stories always going on around him.
He will dearly be missed however we take comfort knowing he is where he wants to be, with Mom.
He is preceded in death by his wife- June Hjelden, parents - Elmer and Isabel (Doyle) Hjelden, brothers - Darwin, Jesse, Russell, Burton, Sidney, Vernon, Larry, Paul, and Robin Hjelden - sisters, Eldora (Harlen), Helen (Stalvik), Dorothy (Robert), A daughter - Rhonda Isaacs, a grandson - Alexander Hjelden, and Son-in-law - David Shearen.
He is survived by his siblings - Lloyd (Pat) Hjelden, Barb (Al) Solberg and Marlene Petri, daughters - Roxann Hjelden, Renita Dean, Rachelle Bailey and Ronette Shearen. Grandchildren - Dayton Isaacs, Nicholas (Heather) Hjelden, Jossua (Savannah Black) Kossow, Jade (Joe) Hart, Stevie (Amanda Murphy) Kossow, Jana Kossow, Cassidy Miller (Alan Habedank), Dani (Patrick) Knutson, Veronica Bailey (Dierre Lewis) and Stephanie Shearen. Great Grandchildren - Morgan, Mariah & Hudson Hjelden, Rainyn & Keegan Hart, Molly Yeagley, Dakotah Ravenscraft, Brennan Knutson, Vivian Lewis, Lilith Kossow, Randall & Sophia Habedank and many nieces, nephews and all the great nieces & nephews.
The Celebration of Life for Ron will be held on Saturday, July 20th, 2024 from 12-2 at the Carroll Funeral Home with burial following at the Pine Ridge Cemetery. A luncheon in his honor is scheduled for 3pm at the Vets Club in Deer River.
