Roger Dean Serfling

Roger Dean Serfling, 79 years old, (9/3/1939) from Deer River, died in Deer River surrounded by family on 5/9/2019. He is survived by: Sharon Serfling (wife). Children Julie Serfling, Jimmy Serfling. Robbie Serfling, Ronnie Serfling, Lonnie Serfling (Kathy), Jannie Boyer (Lonnie), Rick Serfling (Jill), Bobbi Jo Hemphill (Bruce), Ellen Tubbs (Bob). Brother and sisters Dawn Hagen (Bucko), Buddy Serfling (Barb), Lynnette Tibbetts, Jack Serfling, Karyl Jean Hawes (Mike) Rudy Prazak. Has 27 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He preceded in death by: LaVerne Hugo Serfling (father), Helen Elaine Soule (mother), Karen Prazak (sister), Bud Tibbetts (brother in law), Dean Randall (nephew) and his beloved dog Snoopy. Visitation Wednesday May 15th 2019 11 am, service to follow at 12 pm (noon). Burial small family gathering at a later date. Roger was born and raised in Deer River, graduated from DRHS. He was married to Sharon and has 2 children, 7 stepchildren. After high school he served in the Air Force for 4 years, came to work in the Mines, logging, Fred's Bait, Deer River Hired Hands (retired from). Roger loved Mowing his lawn, feeding the birds, woodworking, fishing, golfing, and gardening. His favorite past time was giving everyone a hard time (if you could hear him) lol He belonged to Post 122 (American Legion), 2720 (VFW) and Honor Guard and his highest pride is the American Flag!!
