Bob was born and raised in Minneapolis, but he spent summers and hunting seasons at the family cabin on Dixon Lake. As an adult he spent many hunting seasons in that area camping with friends and family. He loved hunting, fishing and anything outdoors. He joined the Marine Corps at age 17 and served 6 years as a mechanic. He served at Camp Pendleton, El Toro, Camp Lejeune and his favorite duty station was Japan. Bob and Robin met in 2002 and were married on August 20, 2010. They never could remember their own anniversary, just that it was near hunting season and his birthday.
He didn't want a funeral, but he agreed to a military service at the Veterans Cemetery in Duluth, Mn., which will be held on September 11, 2025 at 2 pm. Please arrive by 1:45.
We will also be holding a celebration of life THIS Saturday at Veterans Park in Grand Rapids. The address is 10 NE 8th Ave, Grand Rapids, MN. It will be from 12 - 5 pm. All are welcome to attend, and we are asking everyone to wear ANY sports jersey or sports anything in memory of Bob. If you don't have anything sports, just come as you are.
