Renate (Rah-nah-tah) Katharina (Johnson) Bibeau, passed away peacefully in the early morning of Thanksgiving Sunday, November 26, 2023, at age 84, in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Renate will be joining her husband Howard Harley Bibeau (who passed in 2021) at Arlington National Cemetery in 2024. Renate is survived by her 3 children: son Frank (wife Vicki deceased), son Cole and wife Cathy and grandchildren Dianna and Jason, and daughter Kimberly and husband Mark, her grandson Jacob and wife Laura and her great-grandchildren Roman and Hazel.
Renate and Howard (U.S. Air Force) met in Rapid City, South Dakota in the 1950s and were married in Germany in 1956. They had their first son Frank in Germany in 1958, before transferring to Mountain Home Air Base, Idaho where Cole and Kimberly were born. Renate and Howard were married some 65 magical years and spent most of their lives together at the home the family built, called Hill Top, in Manassas, Virginia. Renate retired from Prince William County as a longtime computer programmer-systems analyst, while Howard had an Air Force career including working at the White House Photography Lab and followed by working for the Defense Intelligence Agency at the Pentagon.
Renate and Howard spent more than a couple decades retired and living very well together at Hill Top. Renate and Howard were travelers, who travelled the world together to 5 continents and many countries, several times, together including; South America, Europe, Russia, China, Israel, all 50 states, Mexico and Canada and more.
A Celebration of Life (Lives) for Renate and Howard will be held at the 2024 Bibeau-Beckman Family Reunion in Balsam. Instead of sending flowers or cards, please send gift donations to places that help the little children, like children’s hospitals. Best wishes for everyone.
