Raymond John Evans was born May 16, 1966 in Deer River, Minnesota. When he was five years old, his family moved out to some land south of Ball Club and built a house and established a cattle farm. He graduated from Cardinal Muench Seminary in Fargo, North Dakota. Ray then attended Brown Institute for electronics and radio technology in Minneapolis. After graduation, he worked at KOZY in Grand Rapids as "Deejay Razor." He moved to Minneapolis to work at Priority Envelope in Plymouth. Due to developing health issues, he relocated to Grand Rapids. He became the apartment chauffeur for the "hens" at the apartment complex whenever they needed a ride for appointments and grocery runs. He made many friends from Texas, South Dakota, and Minnesota. He spent many hours on the tractor and working at the farm cutting and raking hay. He was also a parts runner and farm equipment fetcher. Ray enjoyed canning and gardening with his mother. He excelled in making bread and egg rolls and pickles. He was an excellent cook. Ray, a/k/a John-John, Razor, and other terms of endearment, was loved by many and will be missed by all.
