Phyllis Ann (Martin) Gotchie

Phyllis Ann Gotchie, age 83, of Ball Club, Minnesota began her spirit walk from her home in Ball Club, Minnesota on Sunday, February 6, 2022.

Phyllis was born on June 8, 1938 in Bena, Minnesota to Ben Martin and Nancy Brown.

Phyllis grew up in the Ball Club townsite area. After attending Flandreau boarding school Phyllis enrolled in school at Itasca Community College, graduating with her LPN she went on to work for various hospitals in the area. Phyllis enjoyed going to the casino, sitting in the elder stand at pow-wows and visiting.

Family welcoming Phyllis to the spirit world are her late husband Leo Gotchie Sr; Children; Charles Gotchie and Michelle ‘Pippi’ Gotchie; parents Ben Martin and Nancy Brown; brothers Ben Jr., Mike, Bill and Larry Martin and other family members.

She will be missed by her children, Francine Smith, Milton Gotchie, Leo Gotchie Jr., Benjamin (Elaine) Gotchie, Myrna Gotchie, Bernadette Gotchie, Larry Gotchie and Nancy (Jason) Gotchie. Sisters; Ellie Craven, Lucillle (Joe) White and Nellie Gotchie. All her grandchildren.

Wake Services for Phyllis will begin after 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022 and continue until her 11:00 a.m. traditional service on Saturday, February 12, 2022 all to be held at the Ball Club Community Center in Ball Club, Minnesota. Zack Early of Obashing will be her Spiritual Advisor.

Helping lay Phyllis to rest are Kohl Belgarde, Talance Fairbanks, Niswi Gotchie, Sean Gotchie, Sevron Gotchie, Ben Gotchie Jr., Travis Smith and Vincent Robinson. Her honorary pallbearers are Amy Fairbanks, Theresa Jordain, Gisele Parent, and her 28 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
