Peter Joseph Carlino

On July 20th 1936, Peter Joseph Carlino was born in Chicago, IL to Genieve Smith and Peter Carlino Sr. On this day, the world gained a special soul full of exuberance. Not many people share the same personality as Peter Joseph Carlino. He had immense strength that could be seen in his golden gloves championship, his service in the Korean War, and his courage to power through life with a smile regardless of having physical limitations. However strong he was, this utter softness lived within him that was often shown through his excitement when seeing a baby, or a little animal. From the moment he was a young boy, fear never held him back from living his life to the fullest. His love for storytelling and music brought life to every room and every gathering. Whether you were his family, or a complete stranger, Pete made everyone feel like they were loved and special. His spunk kept everyone on their toes, waiting for the next crazy thing to come out of his mouth. He never failed to have the whole room belly laughing by his wildly inappropriate remarks. Peter left peacefully on February 7th 2020 at the age of 83. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Shirley as well as his children; Denise Carlino, Craig Carlino, Michael Morrison & Scott Morrison,  grandchildren: Derek Carlino, Sydney Johnson, Zoe Johnson, Ben Johnson, Brittany Flodquist, and Tristan Carlino. He was loved by so many, and impacted so many lives simply by living his life authentically. His legacy and love will live on through stories shared by his family and friends. His name was given to his great grandson, Petey. A military committal service will be held May 22 at 3pm at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery Duluth. A Celebration of Life will be held at Denny's Resort in Bena, Mn on May 24th.
