Paul David Hagstrom
Paul Hagstrom – age 37 of Deer River,MN passed away unexpectedly November 22nd, 2021 in Onamia, MN.
Paul was born in Duluth, MN on November 30th, 1983 to Laura Howe & John “Mark” Hagstrom of Bigfork, MN.
Paul attended Grand Rapids & Deer River Public Schools throughout his youth. He started working for Leech Lake Gaming at a very early age, starting at Northern Lights in Walker, at the time of his passing he was employed at White Oak Casino, Deer River in the Food and Beverage Department. He liked his job, and loved his co-workers. His WO family was extremely important to him, both staff and guests. He talked about them and their stories all the time. He’d brag about them, worry about them, joke about them, most importantly loved, respected and cared about them. If you were going through hard times, he’d try his best to get you through just with his words. He was our light in the room no matter what the situation. At times, he came home saying his face hurt from smiling and laughing at work. *Thank You WO Family for being there for my Brother!*
Paul loved the outdoors, fishing, road trips, cooking, family gatherings, music, he loved following sports, especially the MN Twins; he was always sporting their gear, UFC, podcasts and scary cheesy movies. The music this kid liked was a total variety; it all depended on what mood he was in. Road trips were filled with mostly music from our childhood; happy tears rolling down your cheeks kind of rides, listening to the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Eagles to 2Pac, Snoop, Dre and Eminem. His humor, friendliness, style and cologne, please never forget.
Welcomed with open arms in heaven by his Mother; Laura MayAnn Grauman. Step-father Marc Lyle Grauman, Step-Siblings; Marc Jr. “Butch”, John, Donna Grauman and Byron Goggleye. Maternal Grandparents; Charlie & Ruth Howe. Paternal Grandparents; Betty Hagstrom Vancamp & John Theodore Hagstrom. Aunt Arliss Dewey. & Dear Friend Melvin Rivera.

Special Niece & Nephews, Mariah, Alex, Eric and Anthony. Special friends; Grant Brunetta, Jeremy Gotchie, Wayne Cronin, Brendan Humphrey, Donny Losh, Joe Munnell. His co-workers at WOC Snack Bar, (Thank you Becky, Betty, & Jody for stepping in as part-time Mother roles when he needed a shoulder to lean on.) ALL of White Oak Staff and guests who made his job & life more enjoyable.
He had so many friendships from everywhere and of all walks of life. He cared and loved so many people. He could always brighten up your world, making you forget your worries. He made sure to be a friend and gravitated towards people that needed cheering up. His gift of gab and the jokester in him was his special powers. Laughter was his best medicine but sometimes the happiest people can be the saddest. Everyone has a crazy story of Uncle Paulie. Forever keep those good times with him in your heart, knowing he loved you and cherished the time he had with every single one of you.
