Mike was born and raised in Bigfork MN and moved back to his original home in 1983 after the death of his father. He lived out his life in the house he helped his father build. Graduated from Bigfork high school in 1967. Drafted into the army in 1967. Served in Korea, Germany, New Mexico and Fort Riley Kansas. He was in the Army National Guard as a Recruiter and worked for the Bigfork VFW for many years. He retired from the Army after 24 years of service. He was married for 52 years to his best friend Carol LaFrenier (Lehinger) the love of his life on November 14 1970. He raised his two children Scott LaFrenier and Michelle Shearen (LaFrenier) and did an amazing job of doing so. He also was a Basketball coach for many years, a youth group organizer and mentor, he was a softball pitcher for many years, did carpentry like his father as Geezer Woodworks and worked at Berquist and retired. In his later years he was an avid golfer. He was an outgoing and amazing person, very loved by everyone that he knew. He will truly be missed.
