History: Melvin was born and raised in El Salvador and moved to Houston, TX at the age of 9 where he graduated from MacArthur High School with honors in 1997. Melvin enlisted in the U.S. ARMY in 1997 and was stationed in Fort Bragg, NC. He met LuAnn in 2000 and moved to Deer River, MN in 2001 where he resided at until his passing. Melvin had gotten his CDA and drove for SWIFT truck company for two years. He was then employed with Leech Lake Gaming for several years until he and his family moved to Humble, TX in 2007, where he worked at NCS as a Telecommunications Technician. In 2010 he and his family moved back to Deer River, MN and he began working for Pipeliners Union 798 UA until his passing. Melvin loved his children and family more than anything, he enjoyed teaching his kids valuable life lessons to prepare them for anything that may come their way. Melvin was a very passionate person especially about health & spirituality and was always reading, learning as much as he could and then passing on his knowledge. He was a teacher, mentor, coach if needed, he was the person you could always count on to listen and then give his advice. Melvin made many valuable friendships throughout his life, he had friends from all over the country and kept in touch with as many as he could. He loved to laugh and make people laugh and spread positivity and light wherever he could. He enjoyed his gardens and wanted to make sure his family was eating the best foods possible. Melvin touched many lives in his short time here and will be greatly missed but his spirit will be with us forever.
