Marion Ellen Evans died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Talmoon MN. She was 87 and the youngest of 7 children born in Menominee Wisconsin to Ella Elisabeth Dennis and Edwin Ludwig Helsom.
She was raised in St. Paul Minnesota, where she met and married George Evans in 1952 and had their only children; Dan and Mike. She was a hair dresser most of her life and owned a beauty shop in the St. Anthony Park area of St. Paul, before relocating to Wisconsin, where she became a devoted Green Bay Packers fan. She enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, making various crafts, cooking, canning, watching wildlife and old movies. She spent countless hours sewing her heirloom quilts and unique “Bag Ladies”. She had a caring heart for all including animals. She rescued cats and adopted many. She moved back to Minnesota in 2014 to be closer to family and lived independently with the help of her boys until her passing. Marion dearly loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved to cook and always looked forward to the family BBQ’s and holiday dinners. She was proud of her family German and Norwegian heritage and kept family histories dating back to the 1700’s.
She is survived by her Sons Dan (Masami) Evans, Mike Evans; Grandchildren Tessa (Kurt) Petrowske, Tyson (Katie) Evans, Conner Evans, McKenna Evans; Great Grandchildren Kale and Tatum Petrowske, and Remy Evans; and many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ella and Edwin; husband George, siblings Evelyn, Ester, Robert, Irene, Dennis & James. She will be dearly missed! Family would like to thank Betty Denzel, who was Marions close friend & traveling companion during the last few years of her life.
Marion requested her remains be cremated and Interment will be at the: Roselawn Cemetery, (803 Larpenteur Avenue West, Roseville, MN 55113; (651) 489-1720; www.roselawncemetery.com) Saturday August 21, 2021 12 noon until 2:00 P.M.
