Obituary

Louise Marie McCarroll

Born June 8,1949 in Grand Rapids, MN to Bill and Dorothy Hulbert.

Louise grew up on her parents’ dairy farm south of Deer River. Along with her siblings, she did her share of the hard work the farm required.

She graduated from Deer River Highschool on June 2, 1967. Louise stayed in the area and one year later, on June 1st, 1968, she married Ken McCarroll. They were married for 42 years until his death in 2010.

Louise was a devoted wife, mother and a renowned homemaker during these years. She also came along side Ken and helped with office work for their Well Drilling business.

In 2016, Louise met Ron Drake. Together they traveled around the country and even internationally a few times. They shared many good times together and were a great couple. Some of her passions included gardening, canning, baking and always looked for an opportunity to make a large home-cooked meal for her family.

Her faith was very important to her. It was an anchor through the many adversities she faced and the many heartaches she endured over the years.

She had a huge heart and was one of the sweetest lady’s you could ever meet, all the while dressed in the utmost style and class. Louise was also known to have a feisty side to her that would come out if she felt backed into a corner. She would become an absolute bulldog and make it known she wasn’t one to be messed with if anyone dared to come between her and her family.

It cannot be overstated how fiercely she loved her children and grandchildren. She was everyone’s greatest support. The impact she had on each one of them is immeasurable.

Louise was proceeded in death by her husband, Ken McCarroll; parents Bill and Dorothy Hulbert; sister Karen Hulbert; brother Richard Hulbert.

Louise is survived by her significant other Ron; sons, Jay, Joe, Jake and their spouses, 12 grandchildren,10 great grandchildren and two sisters, Linda and Kristine.

Louise passed away June 9,2023, just one day after her 74th birthday. She was at home, surrounded by family. She will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
