Lorraine Ellen (McCue) Becker

Lorraine Ellen Becker of Marcell, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother went to be with our Lord and Savior on May 6, 2024. She was born July 20, 1927 in River Falls, WI to Forrest and Amanda (Hall) McCue.

She grew up on a dairy farm on the South Fork River in River Falls. As a young girl she took flying lessons. She graduated from River Falls High School at age 16. In the summer of 1943, she worked at the US Navy Shipyard, Mare Island in Vallejo, CA. She graduated from Hamline University in 1948 with a BA degree in Business. She became a legal secretary at 3M where she met the love of her life and future husband William Winfield Becker (1920 - 2001). They were married on May 6, 1950 and for over 50 years they spent a wonderful life with their family, shared many weekends at the cabin, and traveled the world with the “3Mers”. They lived in St. Paul and Shoreview. In 2007, she moved “Up North” to be near her children.

Lorraine’s interests included sewing, cooking (orange bowknot rolls), gardening, playing cards with her grandchildren, and taking her grandchildren “back to school shoe shopping”. She served as a Girl Scout leader and on the Board of Riverdale Country Club in Sheboygan, WI. She was active in the church her entire life.

She is survived by her daughters, Sue Ellen Campbell & Jill Becker (Jim Baumann), grandchildren John Campbell, Kelsey Campbell, Amanda Becker, Courtney Becker, Hannah Becker, Kali Parrish (Clint); great-grandchildren Zoey, Theseus, Alexander, Stefan, and Paisley.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband William, devoted son Robert, and caring son in law Allan Campbell.

A memorial service will be held later in St. Paul. Internment at Roselawn Cemetery in St. Paul. Memorials are preferred to St. Croix Hospice (HospiceSupportFoundation.org) or Children’s Home Society of Minnesota (donate.chlss.org).
