Lloyd Alfred Lundquist
Lloyd Lundquist, 81, of Cohasset, MN passed away Wednesday, January 15 peacefully, at home. He was born August 27th,1943, to Rudolph and Mabel (Bruce) Lundquist in a farmhouse in Maple Lake, MN.
Lloyd graduated from Monticello High School in 1961 and worked in Minneapolis as a drywall installer. There he met and married the love of his life, Janet (Berg), February 15, 1964, who passed in 2013. Lloyd and Jan moved to Cohasset in 1970 from Monticello and operated their dairy farm until 1995. In 1995, they opened J&L Feeds in Deer River and later moved their business to their farm in 2006.
Lloyd was active in the community throughout his life. He was a 4-H leader. Lloyd bowled on numerous bowling leagues in Grand Rapids and Deer River. He also operated Lundquist Logging and Trucking for many years. In later years, Lloyd had numerous health issues that kept him from doing many activities, but he still enjoyed riding in his side by side checking on his cows and pigs on the farm and enjoying an occasional fishing and hunting adventure with Rick and Jason. Lloyd also enjoyed weekly rides through the countryside with Rick reminiscing of family, friends, and places that were important to him. Lloyd was also a great storyteller. He will be greatly missed by his family and numerous friends made through the years.
He was preceded in death by his Wife Janet, Father, Mother, brothers Junior, Charles, Sisters Laverne Peterson, Darlene Sawatzky, and Audrey Murray, Daughter-in-law Anna and Granddaughter Brittany.
He is survived by his sons Rick, Jason (Sara Peck), daughter Rachelle Connolly-Ellis, Grandchildren Brent Lundquist (Delsie), Kevin Lundquist, Alan Lundquist (Brittni), Hannah Esty (Darin), Sophie Cusick (Jake), Joie, Kori Wilson and Elise Wilson, Tyler Connolly, Patrick (TJ) Connolly and Aaron Connolly. Great Grandchildren Willow and Malea Lundquist, Jason, Austin, and Carson Lundquist, Lexus Lundquist, Dawson, Colson, and Payton Esty as well numerous nieces and nephews.
