Linda Lou (Sheffield) Mayo

Linda Lou Mayo, 84, of Deer River, MN, died Wednesday December 10th, 2025, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be held at Carroll Funeral Home on Monday, December 15th at 2 pm, followed by a service at 3 pm and a luncheon at the Vet’s Club.

Linda was born in Wadena, MN on October 18th, 1941. She married William Mayo on December 10th, 1959. Together, they had 5 children and resided mainly in Deer River, where she worked for and retired from ISD 317. She loved spending time with her family and watching sports and TV shows, but girls’ trips with her daughters were her favorite.

Linda is survived by 4 children, Pam (Mike) Morgan of Vicksburg, MS, Debbie Martinez of Wisconsin Dells, WI, Billy (Heidi) Mayo of Watertown, SD and Jody (Josh) Taylor of Panama City, FL.19 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by 3 sisters, 1 brother, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband William Mayo, daughter Christine Killian, grandchildren Kevin Hoffman, Kerri Hoffman, and Jessica Mayo, parents Wesley and Helen Sheffield, brothers Gary and Joe Sheffield and sister Monica Klein.
