Linda Gross Obituary

Linda Susan (Wodahl) Gross, age 76, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Bigfork Valley Communities. Linda was born on October 9, 1948, in Hibbing, Minnesota, to parents James and Eunice Wodahl. She spent her formative years in various small towns across North Dakota and northwest Minnesota, eventually settling in Grand Rapids, where she graduated from high school and earned a degree at Itasca Junior College.

After college, Linda made her home in Bigfork where she raised her family and worked for many years as first secretary and then paraprofessional at Bigfork School. She also served as secretary for Grace Community Church, and later worked at the Gift Nest at Bigfork Valley during her retirement.

Linda’s faith, family and friends were of the utmost importance to her. Her other passions in life were camping, crafts, collectibles, and chocolate - simple joys that reflected the depth of her heart and creativity.

Throughout her life, Linda faced challenges with unwavering grace and a twinkle of mischief in her eye. Her creative wit and playful sense of humor brought joy to those around her - you never knew when you might be the victim of her next prank!

Linda was preceded in death by her beloved parents, a dear brother, James “Woody” Wodahl, and a precious great-granddaughter, Charli Gross.

She leaves behind a loving legacy through her children: sons Kevin (Kristi) Gross of Bigfork, and Derrick (Susan) Gross of Fessenden, ND; daughters Steph (Kieth) Kallinen and Angie (Jesse) Storlie, both of Bigfork. She was the proud grandmother of Matthew (Rebecca), Josh (Sara), Conor, Casey, and Owen (Anna) Gross; Nicolle (Tim) Anderson; Jade, Gavin, and Caden Kallinen; Rebekah, Scott, and Alarik Storlie; and cherished great-grandmother to Genevieve, Eleanor, and John Gross. Linda is additionally survived by her sister Diane (Bert) Heep; brothers Wes (Brenda) and Brian (Donna) Wodahl; and sister-in-law Judy Wodahl.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 10, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM, both at Grace Community Church in Bigfork.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the Activities Department at Bigfork Valley Communities to honor both Linda’s memory and the facility that allowed her to continue to enjoy her beloved arts and crafts all through her life. Donations can be made through the Bigfork Valley Community Foundation, PO Box 44, Bigfork, MN 56628 or online at www.bigforkvalleyfoundation.org.
