Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Lee Arthur Schoenrock was born in Milwaukee, WI on June 5, 1932. His family moved to Minneapolis, MN in 1933. He attended Central High School and graduated from Dunwoody College as a draftsman in 1952. After serving two years in the army under military intelligence, for which he is deeply proud, he worked at Honeywell in Minneapolis for 20 years. He married Marilyn Cecilia Becht on September 14,1957 and was married for 67 years to the love of his life! Lee worked as a draftsman, engineer, salesman, and manager at multiple companies throughout his career. However, his dream job was owning and operating the Bait and Tackle shop in Deer River, MN from 1974-1982.
Lee loved the up-north woods area for its beauty, serenity, and opportunities for fishing and hunting. Fishing was his passion! His adventures in the woods would be to go for rides on the back trails, waterfall excursions, picking blueberries, going camping to the Boundary Waters, and sitting around a bon fire with family. He was a man of deep faith and family time was very special to him. He loved the fruits of everyone else’s labor. We were able to grant one of his last wishes to go to the casino and he dreamed in his last days that he won the jackpot.
He is preceded in death by his son, Michael Lee; parents Edward and Pearl Schoenrock; his brothers Ned, Roy, and Dale; and his life-long friend, Dwayne Jones.
Lee is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his family Margaret (Jeff)Keller, Jean (Jim) Allison, Jim(Jane)Schoenrock, Mary (Mike) Bower, and Janet (Galen)Schoenrock; his sister, June Hegdahl; 10 Grandchildren Matt, Alicia, Katie, Cari, Jacob, Brian, Emily, Jenny, Ashley and Brittany; and 10 great-grandchildren Benjamin, Lauren, Natalie, Martin, Arthur, Quinn, Aiden, Liam, Antonio, Cecilia, and Sawyer. His final journey was a difficult battle with pancreatic cancer and he is now at peace with God and his loved ones.
