Justin Rodney Howard

Justin Rodney Howard, age 43, of Duluth, Minnesota passed away peacefully on Monday, May 25, 2026, with his loved ones by his side in Duluth.

Justin was born on April 12, 1983, in Bemidji, Minnesota to Ernest Howard, III and Maxine Joan Fultz. He graduated from the Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig School in Bena, Minnesota.  

Justin grew up in Cass Lake, Minnesota with his family along with many cousins, auntie’s, uncles and good friends.  He moved to Duluth for the past 16 years.  In his work as a Personal Care Attendant, Justin showed his compassion for helping others.  He & Michael were avid travelers which has taken them to Hawaii and to other beautiful vacation sites throughout the United States.

Justin is survived by his partner, Michael Khalar, his father Ernest & Betsy and his brothers, Derek, Jerod, Douglas, Travis, Thomas and his sister Kristie.

Justin is preceded in death by his mother Maxine, brother Ernest IV, maternal and paternal grandparents, other family members and friends.

An overnight wake will begin at 5:00 PM on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at the White Earth Community Center in Cass Lake, Minnesota, and will continue until his funeral services at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 29, 2026, with Allan Hardy Officiating.

Active Pallbearers will be Drew Curry, Charles LaRose, Bryan Meat, Jason Silcox, Troy Bowstring and Joe Schulman.

Interment will be at the Spike Cemetery in Inger, Minnesota
