She Lived, She Died - June White
June Bonita (Bjorge) White, age 96, of Cohasset, MN, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 29, 2025. Born on September 5, 1928, in Bigfork, MN to Grace and Leroy Bjorge, she had one sister and three brothers. She married Loren White (Lou) on September 10, 1946, and they had five children.
They moved to Montana so Loren could go to college to become a professional electrical engineer. June even received a diploma at the same time Loren graduated citing her part in putting him through college. After college they moved frequently to different states including New York, Colorado, Ohio, Minnesota, South Dakota and finally back to Minnesota permanently. They also lived (multiple times) in Iran and Pakistan so Lou could help build hydroelectric dams.
June enjoyed a lot of activities: photography, oil painting (portraiture), sewing, quilting, and her two favorites: gardening and cooking/baking, especially new recipes. The last two gave her a lot of peace and joy. They also gave joy to her family and friends, as well as a few additional pounds.
She was predeceased by her husband of nearly 59 years, Loren White, and her son Steven White. She is survived by four daughters: Vicky (Dave) Schiller, Nancy (late Jerry) Kuley, Linda (late Gary) Fleck, Lesli White, thirteen grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at Carroll Funeral Home in Deer River MN on Friday, May 9th, at 11am (visitation will be from 10am to 11am), with a luncheon following at the VFW in Deer River.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Second Harvest Northland, 2222 Cromell Drive, Grand Rapids, MN. Mom, you are loved and will be sorely missed.
