Joseph Eric Mentges

Joseph Eric Mentges 1963-2025 Joseph "Joe" Eric Mentges, age 61, of Deer River, MN, passed away Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025, at Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, MN, surrounded by loving family.

Joe was born April 30, 1963, in Maryland to Charles and Catherine (Lanham) Mentges. His hard-working nature led him to jobs at Gibbs Wild Rice, Sherman motors, and Folio company of Deer River, followed by Northern Pipeline, a variety of oil pipelines across the country, and Casper Construction. He retired at the age of 52.

A man of many interests, Joe enjoyed woodworking, photography, gardening, and feeding the birds and deer his "girls". He was an amazing cook and spent many hours grilling every meat on the planet, always sharing with his friends and family.

Joe is survived by his partner and best friend, Vickie Feltus; Parents Charles (Donna) Mentges and Catherine Ondracek; brothers Chuck and Mike (Denise); sister Charleen; Vickie's sons Scotty and Cody Mickle and their families; nephews Mikey and Cody Mentges; nieces Lianne (Sam) Custer and Nikki Mentges; and many close friends and extended family.

At Jo's request, no funeral services will be held.  A Celebration of Life will be at the Deer River Vets Club, February 22, 2025 2:00 P.M.
