Jerry Lee Plieseis, 77, passed away at his home in Marcell, MN, on July 7th,2021.
He was born in Glencoe, MN, on April 22nd 1944, to Edgar and Bernell Plieseis.
Jerry graduated in Glencoe in 1962. He then made the decision to serve our country and joined the Army. This took him to Fort Leonard Wood, MO for basic training, then FT Bragg, NE where he completed his airborne training. He then was deployed for a Tour of Duty in Vietnam. Jerry married the love of his life, Viola J Sharp, on May 2nd 1964. They moved back to Glencoe in 1965. There, they were blessed with five children. Jerry held a number of various occupations before their family moved to Marcell in 1978.
Jerry enjoyed fishing, hunting, and bowling. He loved spending time with his family and telling stories. Jerry was exceptionally proud of his service. This was shown by his 50 years dedicated to the American Legion.
Jerry is survived by his wife Viola Jean, sons; Roger Dale (Tina), Larry Ron, Jerry Vaughn, Paul Edgar (Kathy). Daughter Jean Marie Mount, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, grand-children, and great-grand-children.
Jerry is preceded in death by his father Edgar, his mother Bernell, and his son-in-law Michael Mount.
Visitation will be at Carroll Funeral Home in Deer River at 10:00 AM. Service at 11.
