Ernest "Butch" Belcourt of Bena, MN passed away October 23, 2023 in his home in Bena, MN.

Butch was Born December 22, 1939 in Minneapolis, MN, he was a Navy Veteran.

Butch was survived by Violena Belcourt, Richard Belcourt, Jaylen LaRose, Mariah LaDeaux, Leela Belcourt, Randall Belcourt & Michael LaRose.

Butch was preceded by wife Lillian, White, Children Tiffany Belcourt & Randall Belcourt, Parents Viola Costello & Ernest Richard Belcourt Sr.

Ernest , also known as Butch. he lived for his kids, brothers and sisters and all his grandchildren can't forget his nieces and nephews. Loved when his family and friends came to visit even if it was a call. Especially when it was unexpected.

Butch loved to start the day with a fresh pot of coffee and watch his news every morning. When he was young he took care of his brother's and sister's and his mom and dad after he was able to join the navy that's what he did and he got to see the world. After that he went on and became a certified CDC counselor. He never gave up on graduating from college and he did just that.

His favorite place was and will always be, Bena, Minnesota. He would always put his family first and helped people, especially anishanabe people. His favorite thing to do was tell people that were going through a rough patch in life was; "life is never meant to be easy, when it is easy that usually means you're doing something wrong". He will be greatly missed by many and left big impressions on a lot of hearts.

I'm sure the first person he looked for on the other side was the love of his life; Lillian white. They're finally and forever reunited. As we all feel sadness in our hearts let's not forget he is in a better place now.
