Edith Wilson was born on February 20, 1956, in Pike Bay Township, Minnesota. She passed away peacefully at home on February 3, 2025, in Ball Club, Minnesota.
Edith attended school in Deer River and went on to dedicate much of her life to the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe and Leech Lake Gaming. Throughout her career, she touched and influenced many lives, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
A prolific birchbark and beadwork artist, Edith was passionate about her craft and loved teaching others. She cherished the opportunity to help others learn and preserve the traditions of her art. In addition to her artistic pursuits, Edith found joy in spending time outdoors. One of her favorite times of the year was bough picking season, when she could connect with nature and share her experiences with others.
Edith lived her life one moment at a time and had a unique ability to turn even the simplest tasks into grand adventures. She found joy in sharing those adventures with her family and friends, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come. Throughout her life, Edith faced heartbreaks and heartaches, but her strength and resilience kept her going for many years. While we will miss her dearly, we find comfort knowing that she is now at peace.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents, George and Margaret Wilson; her beloved daughter, Lindsey Wilson; her son, Wayne Keezer; her sister, Deborah Robinson; and her nephew, Jason "Barney" Robinson.
She is survived by her daughters, Danielle Keezer and Robyn Keezer; her brother, Jeffrey (Peggy) Wilson Sr.; her sister, Pamela (John) Thompson; her grandchildren, Michael Jr., Nicholas, James, Michaela, Conner, Chase, Kendra, Ethan, JoJo, Gus, Miles, Duran, Soloan, Serene, Sade, and Drake; as well as one great-grandchild. Edith is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
