Delores took a trip in her early 20's to Texas with a girlfriend; they ran out of money and had to find work in order to pay for the trip back home to MN. While in Texas she went on a blind date with Wallace Laughlin. Little did she know, he would be the love of her life. Three months later they were married. During their long marriage they had five children, four boys and a girl.
Delores traveled so many places with Wally while he was in the Navy. Dee was a devoted military wife, Dee was a steadfast partner to her husband, Wally, throughout his 30 years of service. Her unwavering support and resilience allowed them to navigate the unique challenges of military life with grace and strength. Dee was known for her grace and humor and her ability to thrive in new communities like Yorktown Naval Weapons Station VA, Norfolk Naval Base VA, San Diego Naval Base CA, Naval Station Charleston, Naval Air Base Corpus Christi TX, Newfoundland Canada, Naval Base Guam, and one of her most enjoyable Naval stations Naval Base Sasebo, Japan making her a valuable asset to the military community. Dee loved all of these adventures.
After Wally retired, they moved to Delores' birth state of Minnesota and purchased a home in Spring Lake. Delores lived there until earlier in 2025. Dee and Wally enjoyed spending time with neighbors and for a while snowmobiled throughout the north land. They loved the lake and enjoyed fishing.
She loved her home, Northern MN, her children, grandchildren and her dogs. She was a friend to many and loved to talk with others. She held various jobs in her life, but the final job was housekeeping at the Bigfork Hospital where she met many friends. Delores will be profoundly missed by her family. She loved us well and in turn we loved her with all our hearts.
