David Eugene Wachtler

David Wachtler passed away on Tuesday, April 15 in Bigfork at the age of 65. Dave was born February 1, 1960 in Tampa, Florida but moved to Minnesota when he was very young. He graduated from Park High School in Cottage Grove. 

Dave spent his career as a testing technician for several companies in the Twin Cities area. He did environmental and vibration testing on various products and components for machines. 

He was an avid outdoors person who loved fishing, camping, birdwatching and hiking. From the time that his daughter was young, the family spent a week at Scenic State Park, and that is why he chose to settle in the Bigfork area since he loved it so much. He also had a passion for birds. Over the years he kept pigeons, chickens, ducks, pheasants and parrots.

Dave is survived by his daughter Hannah, brother Paul (Carina), sisters Ruth and Lisa, and 5 nieces.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 17 at 11:00AM at Grace Community Church in Bigfork. Lunch to follow the service.
