Clyde David Hemphill

Clyde David Hemphill, 87, Longtime resident of Deer River, passed away Sunday October 1, 2023, at Essentia Health in Deer River.

Clyde was born June 3, 1936, in Deer River. He married his sweetheart Edna Parks on June 11, 1960. They raised 4 children, Shirley, Mike, Patrick, and Chris.

He is survived by his Sister: Audrey Arko, his children: Michael, Patrick (Terra), and Christine, His grandchildren: Casey (Myranda), Ashley, Jonathan, Mayuko, Stephen, and Jessica. Several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents: James and Hattie Hemphill, Wife: Edna Hemphill, Daughter: Shirley Storlie, Daughter in law: Yuriko Hemphill, Brothers: Donald, Lester, Albert, & James, Sisters: Lucille, Dorothy & Marie.

There will be a visitation on Thursday from 3-5 PM. There will be a lunch following the visitation at the Deer River Vet’s Club.

Clyde worked for the mines for a number of years before retiring and going to work for the forestry. He loved to travel and spend time with his family and friends.
