Clyde Grangruth Obituary

Clyde Seymour Grangruth
October 20, 1941 – January 6, 2026

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Clyde Seymour Grangruth, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, at his home on the lake in Marcell, Minnesota—a place that reflected the calm, warmth, and simplicity he cherished throughout his life.

Clyde was born on October 20, 1941, in Menahga, Minnesota, to Hugo and Hilda Grangruth. He lived a life based on kindness, working hard, and spending time with his family. Clyde found joy not in extravagance, but in life’s simple pleasures—casting a fishing line with his grandchildren, hunting alongside his son, savoring a cup of coffee with a slice of pecan pie made by his daughter, and faithfully cheering on the Minnesota Vikings.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his infant sisters, Marilyn and Jeanette; his first wife, Joyce (Sanders); and two infant sons, Stacey Lee and Corey Jon, whom he carried in his heart always. Clyde leaves behind a family who loved him dearly and will forever carry his memory with them. He is survived by his children, Darren (Hope) Grangruth, and their children Niki (Ben Fischer) and Shelby (Matt Schwartz); and Misun (Eric) Bormann, and their children Caleb, Christian, and Alexa. He was also blessed with three great-grandchildren—Charli, Owen, and Mavrik. He is further survived by his loving second wife, Cindy (Storlie) Grangruth; stepchildren, Kevin (Carrie) and Amy (Jeff Reber) and his step-grandchildren, Connor, Madison, and Sophia; in addition, Kayla (Olin Small) and their children, Armando, Brooklynn, Tyler, and Blake. His children and grandchildren all brought him immense pride and happiness. Clyde is also survived by his sister, Cindy (Holmes), and his brother Maynard.

Clyde’s gentle presence, quiet humor, and love for his family left an indelible mark on all who shared in his life. Clyde was loved by anyone lucky enough to know him. He will be missed by them all. A celebration of Clyde’s life will be held at a later date, when the weather is warmer, in Marcell, Minnesota. Family and friends will be invited to gather, share memories, and honor a life truly well-lived.
