Belford "Billy" Niklas Olson III

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Belford Niklas Olson III “Billy”, on September 11th, 2025, at the age of 43. Born on March 2nd, 1982, in Bigfork, MN, Billy’s life was one filled with laughter, love, and a rare ability to bring joy to all who knew him. Whether you saw him around town or at the hospital, Billy always took the time to say hello, offering a quick smile or a witty remark, making sure you knew that you mattered to him.

Billy had a gift for making friends wherever he went, and his vibrant personality left an imprint on the hearts of all who crossed his path. His laughter was contagious, and he had a unique way of making every day feel special. Whether he was telling a joke, sharing a laugh, or just being there for someone, Billy’s care and warmth were felt by everyone fortunate enough to know him.

In addition to his unwavering kindness, Billy was passionate about many things. He loved spending time outdoors, whether fishing, bird hunting, or golfing. His love for sports, especially the Cincinnati Bengals, was evident as he never missed a game. His enthusiasm for life and all its joys will be missed by those who shared in these moments with him.

Billy is survived by his loving girlfriend, Stephanie Hansen; his mother, Christine Olson; his sisters, Misty Olson and Joanie Olson; his nephews, Patrick (Baylie) Myers and Troy Myers; and many other friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Belford V. Olson II; his grandparents Belford and Vera Olson; grandparents Nykolj and Margot Kulczyckyi; and his brother-in-law, Troy Myers.

Though Billy’s time with us was far too short, his legacy of laughter, love, and care for others will live on in our hearts forever. His joyful spirit and unwavering kindness will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.

A celebration of Billy's life will be held on Wednesday, September 17th, 2025, with visitation starting at 3:00 p.m. and the service at 4:00 p.m. at Grace Community Church. Following the service, Billy will be laid to rest at the Bigfork Cemetery.
