Alicia "Allie" Marjorie Benham

Alicia “Allie” Benham, age 30, passed away on Thursday July 16, 2020 in Denver, Colorado. Although she left us far too soon her life was well lived and her mark on the world will continue to live through those who loved her. She will forever be remembered for her gigantic smile, her even bigger heart, and her uncanny ability to make everyone she met feel special. Allie graduated from Deer River High School in 2008. From there she explored the world and various careers that allowed her to help those who needed it most. Eventually Allie landed in Denver, Colorado where she accomplished the prestigious feat of graduating from the Denver Fire Academy in November of 2018 and becoming a member of the Denver Fire Department. Allie loved breweries, brunch, beating anyone who dared to play her in one-on-one, hiking, biking, exploring, and travel. She craved challenge and adventure resulting in amazing experiences such as backpacking alone in Australia for nine months and an unforgettable trip to Peru hiking Machu Picchu. Above all, Allie adored family, friends, and Freddy; she went above and beyond to make sure everyone in her life knew how much she loved them through a simple phone call, a quick message, sending an unexpected gift, or as her nieces will tell you- with the best hugs ever.

Allie is survived by her parents, Dale and Addie Benham; siblings Dusty (Brensley) Haywood, Clifton (Emily) Benham, Kenneth (Cassidy) Benham, Damon Benham, and Chad Benham; grandfather, Rod Benham; nephews, Khyren, Ian, Easton, Cameron, and Zeke; nieces, Cara, Ari, Audrina, Evin, Tatum, Giselle, and Delilah; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Clifton and Ann Erickson, grandmother Ethel Benham; aunts, Kathy Masterson & Sandra Erickson; cousins Derek Chivers and Jeffery Masterson.

A wake service will be held on Saturday July 25, 2020 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Caroll Funeral Home (14 1st Ave NE, Deer River, MN 56636).
