Ernest “Ernie” Ellsworth Mann of Deer River, MN passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 27, 2019, at the age of 86. Ernie was born in Deer River, MN on October 15,1932 to Jack and Lucille (Shannon) Mann. He was one of six children.
Ernie is survived by four Children= Teresa (Michael) Miller. Tamara (Dean) Scherf. Troy Mann. Tina Doree
Grand Children= Natasha and Preston Miller. Brady Geving, Tyler and Kody Scherf. Mitchell, Nicholas and Zachary Mann. Desiree (Kylee) Craven. Devon and Dalton Doree.

Brother: Jack Mann (Judy)

Ernie served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war. After returning home he operated a truck stop on the East end of Deer River. Ernie then moved to Alaska and worked there for many years. He and his Wife Kathy raised their 4 children and returned to Deer River in 1976. Ernie then started his own business, Mann Excavating. He operated the business for many years with his son Troy. Ernie also operated the Rivertown Diner and Uncle Erns Bar and Restaurant in Deer River. Ernie loved dancing and singing and was well known for that. Ernie cherished his children and grand children as well as his many friends in the area.
