Debra Jean Williams/"Broken Toe", 61 of Deer River passed away in Duluth on Friday April 26th. She was born March 10th 1958 to James and Barbara Best. Debbie dedicated her life to helping others in need. For many years she worked at Northland Recovery Center in Grand Rapids giving back to women in recovery with her endless knowledge and loving heart. She also enjoyed going back in time to the 18th Century... where she was known to many as "Broken Toe", the head cook at White Oak Society Learning Center in Deer River. She enjoyed nature to its fullest and could always be counted on to teach the people that surrounded her about every edible plant, herb or mushroom. She had the ability to see the beauty in everything and everyone. She would in turn nurture them and watch them grow. She is survived by her cherished companion John Miller and their puppy Peanut. Her 3 children... Peter Williams(Jen) Brandon Williams (Liz) Randy Williams (Chrissy) John's children... Jesse Miller (Laura) Amanda LeDoux (Mark) 11 treasured grandchildren.
